Program Overview

The Margaritaville Restaurants Leadership Program is a paid, 10–12-week experience where you will be fully integrated into the day-to-day activities of a team working in one of the most dynamic and energic food and beverage locations in the country. You’ll be working in some of the most beautiful beach and tourism areas in the country while learning the inner workings of one of the most popular brands.

The Leadership Program offers two distinct but connected pathways:

Front of House – Restaurant Operations

The Program Will Include:

This track focuses on guest experience and floor leadership. Interns learn how leaders manage live shifts, guide team communication, support guest recovery, and make real- time decisions that impact service flow and guest satisfaction.

Back of House – Culinary Operations

This Program Will Include:

This track is designed for culinary-focused students interested in kitchen leadership. Interns work alongside culinary leaders to understand production flow, quality standards, safety, and execution in a high-volume environment while developing leadership presence in the Heart of the House.

As a Margaritaville Leadership Program participant, you will gain on-the-job experience working in our Margaritaville and Landshark Bar & Grill locations, will participate in unique learning experiences, and can meet and work with people from all over the world. Work is augmented by weekly meetings with leaders and supervisors who share the inside view of their work at Margaritaville and their experiences as leaders. The open discussion format allows participants to learn directly from leaders, ask challenging questions, and address critical issues. Participants will have the opportunity to work side by side a supervisor or manager to learn the responsibilities, duties, and real-world work experience.

We will host weekly Leadership session with Executives in Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Culinary and students can learn about philanthropy and charity elements of Margaritaville and Jimmy Buffett, and will have a chance to have a work session with the CEO. The discussions are structured to provide both a functional overview of the organization and insight into a variety of leadership approaches.

Students will choose arrival and departure dates based on school schedule and housing.

You’ll be paid an hourly wage based on your position less all applicable taxes and withholdings, payable weekly. If overtime is required, we will try to give you as much advanced notice as possible. Training is also paid.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a certificate or degree
  • Have completed at least one semester of college
  • Able to start internship working at least 35 hours/week (Mid May through Mid – Late August. We will work around your back-to-school schedule.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US on a fulltime, permanent, and ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  • Have housing or currently live near, one of the following locations:
    • Myrtle Beach, SC
    • Destin, FL
    • Panama City Beach, FL
    • Daytona Beach, FL
    • Miami, FL
    • Key West, FL
    • New York City, NY
    • Atlantic City, NJ
    • Minneapolis, MN (Mall of America)
    • Atlanta, GA
    • Miramar Beach, FL
  • Housing must be confirmed prior to a final offer being extended.

While this is a paid program opportunity. Hourly wages will be based on the salary for each market.

Special arrangements can be made to accommodate academic degree requirements. Leaders and program managers are available to meet or correspond with academic advisors, review mandatory assignments, and complete evaluations based on specific academic needs.

Ongoing communication and evaluation is encouraged as a part of every experience for the program. Participants and managers also take a step back at key points to assess your experience and measure progress Exit interviews and final evaluations help us understand how we can improve the program and provide you feedback on your performance.
